The Sun on 03.22.2022. This is today's image of our nearest star. Note that new spot AR2974 is emerging from the Sun's limb. This panorama did not stitch as well as I hoped--there are some dark areas. But it gives a good overall impression of solar activity. I've provided a black and white positive image for comparison. Note the looping prominence at the 2 o'clock position. This is a loop of plasma following the lines of force of the Sun's magnetic field.
