Messier 78. Originally Posted January 27, 2022

 Messier 78 is one of the toughest objects to capture, especially under bright, inner city skies. This image is a stack of more than 200 separate images captured with a light pollution filter and (separately) with a filter that just allows H II light to the imager. The result shows the complex nebulosity around this reflection nebula. M 78 glows in the light of 2 Class B stars. 45 T-Tauri variables (young stars in the process of formation) are also part of this object.
